Rosneft Aero Introduces Digital Into-Plane Fuel Accounting Technology

19 May 2020

Rosneft Aero is adopting digital jet fuel accounting for into-wing refuelling as part of the Rosneft-2022 Strategy. The company has renewed airfield equipment fleet of Pulkovo International Airport by purchasing TZA-45 refuellers, which are equipped with the latest integrated automated fuel mass measurement system. In 2019, Rosneft Aero sold 52,000 tons of jet fuel in Pulkovo, becoming one of the largest fuel suppliers.

Business processes digitization and technological development in all areas of the Company’s activities is an important element of the Rosneft-2022 Strategy, primarily due to the accelerated replication of digital solutions.

The new equipment with an automatic accounting system is able to register the volume, weight, temperature, and density of fuel supplied, generate and send reports to print, reducing the time required to complete primary documentation when refuelling an aircraft by 60%. The system improves the accuracy of mass measurements during fuel shipment to aircraft and eliminates the human factor.

In the short term, Rosneft Aero plans to continue updating the fleet for refuelling aircraft in other regions of its presence.

Note for Editors:

Pulkovo Airport is one of the largest airports in Russia. In 2019, it served more than 19.5 million passengers.

In 2019, Rosneft began construction of modern bulk fuel installations at Pulkovo Airport. The project is being implemented as a part of the Company’s strategy to expand its own network of refuelling complexes and to increase the supplies of jet fuel to final consumers. As a leader in the Russian jet fuel market, Rosneft has unique experience in creating and managing modern airport fuel infrastructure facilities. The company has successfully implemented a number of significant projects in key regions of the country, including the largest for the last 30 years, the construction of a refuelling complex at the Knevichi airport in Vladivostok.

Rosneft Aero is Rosneft specialized subsidiary and Rosneft airline refuelling business operator. The enterprise has been selling aviation fuel, along with providing a full range of services in supplying of aviation kerosene and aircraft refuelling management in the airports of Russia and abroad since 2008.
